Allowing products a second life is the safest way to save raw materials and energy. The European research project DigiPrime wants to use information technologies to support a cycle.
In cars, remanufactured gearboxes and engines have long been commonplace. This principle of so-called remanufacturing is now to become the rule for many products. In this way, a cycle is created that conserves the resources of our planet. To achieve this, however, the used products must return to the company. The European research project DigiPrime aims to use information technology to support such a cycle.
